Find the Aquamarine Piece That Fits Your Style

Aquamarine is a member of the beryl group, just like emerald. However, unlike its fellow gemstone, it has greater transparency and clarity, with high-quality stones being completely see-through with no cloudiness. There are some specimens with a slight icy blue hue, while others tend to have a bluish green color.

Aquamarine Stones

Loose stones, selected individually and ready to be set.

Rings

Solitaires, trilogies and cocktail settings in 9ct and 18ct gold.

Necklaces

Pendants and chains in lengths that layer without tangling.

Earrings

Studs and drops that brighten without weighing the lobe.

Aquamarine has a distinct appearance compared to other blue gemstones.

Aquamarine is used extensively in jewellery as it is quite durable for regular wear. This gemstone’s hardness rate falls between 7.5 and 8 on the Mohs scale, which means it can be used for rings, earrings, necklaces, pendants, and bracelets.

Today, most aquamarine gems in jewellery are mined in Brazil, Madagascar, and Nigeria. The higher the clarity of an aquamarine stone and the stronger its color, the higher its value.

Our Ring Collection

Aquamarine Rings

Aquamarine rings have a fresh and light appearance and do not carry the weight that some other dark stones have.
While some customers choose a vintage style featuring engraving, a milgrain edge or even filigree, others opt for a simple, elegant design, one which puts the emphasis on the stone. Both designs will work well depending on the type of aquamarine used and its color.

Our Ring Collection

Pearl Rings That Do Not Need Much to Stand Out

A pearl ring already has something most rings have to work harder for: presence. The smooth surface and natural lustre draw the eye without needing a large stone or an overly detailed setting around it.

That also gives you plenty of choice in how the ring feels. Keep it clean with a single Pearl, add diamonds for more contrast, or pair the Pearl with yellow gold for a warmer finish.

Explore our pearl rings in Australia and find a design that gives the Pearl enough room to be noticed without making the ring difficult to wear.

Our Earrings Collection

Pearl Earrings for the Days You Do Not Want to Overthink It

Some earrings only work with one kind of outfit. Pearls are much easier.

Pearl stud earrings sit neatly on the ear and work when you want something polished without adding too much. Pearl drop earrings give you more movement and make the Pearl more noticeable, while pearl hoop earrings give the classic stone a more modern shape.

Metal makes a difference too. Pearl gold earrings bring warmth to white, cream and golden Pearls and can make the whole piece feel softer against the skin.

The Facts Behind Aquamarine's Timeless Beauty

What every property actually means for the jewellery you wear every day

Property Value What It Means for You

Hardness (Mohs)

7.5–8
Very durable and suitable for everyday wear in rings, bracelets, and pendants

Transparency

Transparent
Light passes through the stone completely from one side to the other, which is what creates that luminous, glowing quality aquamarine is known for. The cleaner and more transparent the stone, the more light it holds and the more alive it looks when worn

Luster

Vitreous
The surface reflects light the way polished glass does, bright, clear, and sharp. This is what gives aquamarine that clean, refreshing appearance that catches the eye even in low light

Pearl: The Facts That Matter Most

Property Value What it means for you
Hardness (Mohs) 2.5–3 Pearls are softer than most gemstones, so they need to be kept away from harder jewellery that can scratch the surface.
Lustre One of the most important quality factors Strong lustre gives the Pearl clearer reflections and more depth. A dull Pearl will look noticeably flatter once it is worn.
Shape Round, near-round, oval, drop, button and baroque Perfectly round is only one option. Drop and baroque Pearls can completely change the look of earrings, pendants and rings.
Colour White, cream, silver, gold, pink, peach, lavender, grey and darker tones Pearl jewellery is not limited to white. Colour can make the piece warmer, cooler, softer or much more dramatic.
Care Gentle cleaning only Put Pearls on after perfume, makeup and hairspray, wipe them after wear and store them separately from harder jewellery.

Colour

Colour of Aquamarine Stones

There are various shades of blue for aquamarines. The colour ranges from light icy blue through to deep blue-green. We can show you the range in colour and assist you in selecting the right stone for your design.

Light Aquamarine Stone

Lighter aquamarine stones have a subtle icy hue and will suit everyday jewellery designs.

Medium Aquamarine Stone

This colour is a popular choice for aquamarines. Gemstones in this category will give off a bright, vivid, and bold blue colour.

Dark Aquamarine Stone

The darker aquamarine stones offer a rich blue-green hue with high visibility and are often used in statement pieces.

Type of Pearl Suits

Which Type of Pearl Suits the Look You Want?

Pearls can look completely different depending on where they are grown, their colour, size and shape. Knowing the main types makes choosing much easier.

Akoya Pearls

Akoya Pearls

Think of the classic Pearl look: generally round, bright and known for sharp lustre. They work especially well in stud earrings and traditional strands when you want a clean, polished finish.

South Sea Pearls

South Sea Pearls

South Sea Pearls are generally larger and are found in beautiful white, silver and golden shades. Their size gives them more presence, so even one Pearl can carry a pendant, ring or pair of earrings without needing much around it.

Tahitian Pearls

Tahitian Pearls

Tahitian Pearls are where Pearl jewellery gets moodier. Their naturally darker colours can show grey, green, blue, aubergine and peacock tones, giving you something very different from traditional white Pearl jewellery.

Freshwater Pearls

Freshwater Pearls

Freshwater Pearls give you plenty of freedom with shape and colour. Along with round and near-round options, you will find more irregular and baroque forms that work especially well in contemporary jewellery.

June Birthstone
Pearl

Pearl, the Birthstone of June

Born in June? Pearl gives you a birthstone that already works naturally in the jewellery people wear most: earrings, necklaces, rings, pendants and bracelets.

It also gives you far more choice than one standard white round Pearl. You can choose a soft cream Pearl, a golden South Sea Pearl, a darker Tahitian Pearl or an irregular baroque shape that makes the finished piece feel completely different.

That makes Pearl particularly good for gifting. A June birthday gives the piece its meaning, but you can still choose the colour, shape and style around the woman who will actually wear it.

A pearl bracelet can mark a milestone, Pearl studs can become the pair she wears every week, while a pendant or ring can make the birthstone feel much more personal than simply buying something because June is on the calendar.

Pearl FAQs

What is a Pearl?

A Pearl forms inside a mollusc when layers of nacre build around an irritant or implanted nucleus. Unlike gemstones that are cut and faceted to reflect light, a Pearl gets its beauty from the lustre across its surface.

Most Pearl jewellery today uses cultured Pearls. They are real Pearls, with the formation process started with human assistance.

Which Pearl jewellery is easiest to wear every day?

Earrings and necklaces are usually the easiest place to start because they are less likely to be knocked against hard surfaces.

Pearl stud earrings are especially easy for everyday wear, while a pearl pendant gives you something simple enough to wear with almost anything.

Pearl rings and bracelets can also be worn regularly, but they need more care because your hands and wrists come into contact with more surfaces throughout the day.

What should I look for when choosing Pearls?

Start with lustre. A good Pearl should have clear, bright reflections rather than looking flat or chalky.

Then compare the surface, shape, size and colour. For strands or matched earrings, also look at how closely the Pearls match each other.

The best Pearl is not always the biggest or most perfectly round. A smaller Pearl with strong lustre can be much more striking than a larger Pearl with a dull surface.

Are cultured Pearls real?

Yes. Cultured Pearls are real Pearls formed inside molluscs. The difference is that people begin the formation process rather than waiting for it to happen naturally by chance.

Most Pearls used in modern fine jewellery are cultured.

Can I customise a Pearl piece from your collection?

Yes. Depending on the design and available Pearls, we can explore different Pearl sizes, shapes and colours along with your preferred metal and setting.
Send us the piece you like or visit our Burnside studio to talk through what you would change.

Can you help me choose between different types of Pearls?

Yes. Tell us whether you are shopping for yourself or a gift, the type of jewellery you want and the look you prefer.
We can help you compare options such as a bright white Akoya Pearl, a larger South Sea Pearl, a darker Tahitian Pearl or a more individual baroque Freshwater Pearl so you can see what actually suits the piece you have in mind.

How do I check availability or pricing?

Send us an enquiry with the Pearl piece you are interested in, or a photo or description of the style you are looking for.
We will confirm current availability and pricing and help you narrow down the closest options from our collection.

What makes Pearl jewellery worth investing in?

Pearls earn their place in a jewellery collection because they are surprisingly easy to wear once you choose the right design.
- They do not rely on sparkle to get noticed. Good lustre reflects light across the whole Pearl, giving the piece brightness without needing a heavily faceted stone.
- There is a Pearl for more than one style. Round white Pearls can feel clean and classic, golden South Sea Pearls warmer, Tahitian Pearls deeper and more dramatic, while baroque Pearls give you something less uniform.
- They work especially well close to the face. Pearl earrings and necklaces reflect light softly, which is one reason they remain such reliable pieces to put on when an outfit needs finishing.
- They can be as simple or as noticeable as you want. A small pair of studs can disappear into your everyday wardrobe, while larger drops, strands or statement rings can become the focus of the whole look.
- They are made for pieces you keep. With the right care, quality Pearl jewellery can stay in your collection for years and eventually become the piece someone else in the family wants to wear.

Questions We Are Asked Most Often

What is Aquamarine?

Aquamarine is actually a member of the beryl family which includes emerald and morganite. The blue-green color of aquamarine is due to small amounts of iron within its molecular structure, while the natural transparency of the stone creates exceptional sparkle and shine in the finished piece of jewelry. It’s a reliable gemstone that retains its beauty in every light.

Bezel setting will protect your aquamarine by encircling the edges of the stone from potential damage due to daily usage. A halo setting surrounds the center stone with additional diamonds or gemstones and provides added protection to the edges of the stone. Claw setting exposes more of the edges of the stone, however also provides the best visibility of its color.
Send us an enquiry with what you have in mind: the piece type, the occasion, any images or references, and a rough budget.
